PortoRiko stands on the waterfront at Krnički porat, the small fishing harbor below Krnica. Its family history begins in 1968, when the restaurant opened as K ribaru. The name changed in 2016 to honor Riko, the proprietor's father. Fishing remains central to the setting: the quay is where local fishermen bring in fish and Kvarner scampi, and the restaurant looks directly toward the sea. A large parking area is also located on the waterfront. The kitchen concentrates on straightforward seafood dishes, with a menu that allows guests to build a meal around fish, shellfish or pasta. Cold starters include seafood salad, marinated anchovy fillets and salted anchovies with olives in olive oil. Istrian prosciutto, sheep cheese and cheese with black truffles bring flavors from inland Istria to the same table. Fish soup leads into warm dishes such as seafood risotto, spaghetti with scampi and green tagliatelle with prosciutto and shrimp. The fish section lists grilled sea bream, sea bass, dentex and sole, alongside tuna steak and a fish platter. Scampi can be grilled or cooked in a wine sauce, while squid appears grilled, fried or stuffed. Mussels and scallops extend the shellfish selection. Guests choosing meat can order grilled steak, pork cutlets or an Istrian steak with mushrooms. Boiled potatoes with Swiss chard and grilled vegetables are among the accompaniments. Pancakes, panna cotta and ice cream complete the menu. Reservations are handled directly by telephone.
