Štefanija's Kitchen

Štefanija's Kitchen is the restaurant at Villa Štefanija in Puntera, above Raša Bay. Outside guests are welcome for dinner by advance reservation, making it an option for visitors staying elsewhere in the surrounding villages. The setting looks across the wooded coastline toward the Kvarner islands, with meals served on a terrace overlooking the sea. The restaurant takes its name and culinary direction from the family's grandmother, Štefanija. The house recalls her baking bread while grandfather Toni gathered mushrooms, wild asparagus and herbs or went hunting, bringing the changing seasons into the household kitchen. Chef Igor continues that approach with a short menu that develops around available ingredients. The cooking is Mediterranean and Istrian, emphasizing local produce, inherited recipes and preparations that take their time. Ingredients named by the kitchen include seasonal asparagus, mushrooms and truffles, fish from Kvarner, Istrian prosciutto and cheese, and olive oil from nearby groves. Guests can choose from à la carte dishes and a daily menu, with Istrian wines selected to accompany the food. Malvasia and Teran are among the wines highlighted by the house. The restaurant also arranges small weddings and other special occasions in its intimate setting. Villa Štefanija itself is a small property with seven accommodation units, set in countryside of meadows, fields and woodland around Puntera.
