Le Anfore is the restaurant of the family-owned Hotel Le Anfore, a three-star house with 20 rooms furnished in wood, wrought iron and Sardinian fabrics, on Via Pallaresus at the edge of the town. The restaurant is open to anyone, not just hotel guests, for lunch and dinner. The kitchen works with Sardinian and Mediterranean recipes built on fresh local fish and meat and other regional produce, with antipasti, pasta and mains that change with what the market brings. There are two places to sit: an air-conditioned dining room with about 160 seats, and, in the summer months, a broad veranda opening onto a garden full of flowers. That garden also serves for aperitivo in spring, and the house takes wedding banquets and receptions for up to 220 guests, which tells you the kitchen is used to feeding large tables at once. For families in a vacation rental nearby, this is the practical choice when nobody wants to hunt for a parking space: the hotel has a large lot of its own inside the grounds, and cards are accepted. The town center with its shops and evening passeggiata is within easy reach, while the beaches and the marina lie roughly two kilometers away by car. Tables can be reserved by phone at +39 070 792032, which is worth doing on summer evenings when the veranda fills with hotel guests first. The full menu is published online through a link on the restaurant's site, so you can check the day's dishes before you set off. If you are traveling with a larger family group, the size of the room means a table for ten is not a problem.

La Vela sits inside the Marina di Villasimius, the tourist port on Via degli Oleandri, with a terrace that looks straight over the moored sailboats and, in the evening, the sunset behind the harbor. Inside there is a climate-controlled dining room for hot afternoons or windy nights. The menu has two halves. One is fish: the kitchen buys daily from local markets and fishermen along the south Sardinian coast, so the board changes with what came in, typically tuna, sea bream, squid, mussels, shellfish and crustaceans, served raw, grilled or fried, with homemade pasta such as fregola with seafood and spaghetti allo scoglio. The other half is pizza from a wood-fired oven, made with Italian flours and a long-fermented dough. Olive oil, cheeses and wines come from Sardinian producers; for dessert there are seadas and tiramisu, and a slow-cooked suckling pig in cannonau reduction covers the meat side. The restaurant opens every day for lunch from 11:00 to 15:00 and for dinner from 19:00, closing at 23:30 on weekdays and midnight on Saturday and Sunday. Tables can be booked online through the link on its website or by phone at +39 392 8780232, and in July and August the terrace seats are the first to go. Getting there from a rental in the town center is about 3 km on foot; most families drive, and in summer a shuttle runs between the port, the town and the main beaches every twenty minutes or so. There is free parking at the marina, and the beach at Porto Giunco, with its shallow water for small children, is close to the port. Because it is a pizzeria as well as a fish restaurant, a mixed group with picky eaters is easy to seat.

Il Miraggio has stood on Campus beach since 1971, when Raffaele Cogoni and his wife Maria built it as a wooden house with a reed roof. Their daughter Ignazia now runs the dining room with her own children, and Antonio heads the kitchen. The building is still all wood inside and out, with 130 seats indoors and around 250 outside; in the warm months tables are set on the terrace and directly on the sand, about 30 meters from the water, looking across Porto sa Ruxi toward Capo Carbonara and the Isola dei Cavoli. The house speciality is cooking over the large open grill, which sits in view of the guests. Seafood comes in as white fish, soup fish, scampi, prawns, lobster, clams, mussels, oysters, squid and octopus; the menu includes fish soup, fregola with sea-anemone sauce, spaghetti with clams or with sea urchin, black ravioli filled with grouper, and a fisherman's risotto. Meat eaters get malloreddus with sausage and saffron, roast suckling pig and lamb, and potatoes peeled and fried to order. Desserts are seadas, fried ravioli with honey and ricotta, and tiramisu. Sardinian cannonau, vermentino, nuragus and malvasia share the list with a few international labels, and gluten-free dishes are available. For a family staying in a rental in Villasimius, the beach and the restaurant are one outing: Campus lies about 3 km west of the town center on the coast road toward Cagliari, roughly 40 minutes from the city. Turn off the SP17 at km 34.7 beside the Hotel Cormoran; a large parking area sits right at the beach. Book by phone in summer, especially for a front-row table at sunset. The house also hosts beach weddings and private parties from May to September, and food can be ordered to take away.
