Formentera, the smallest, has no airport and is reached only by ferry from Ibiza, rewarding visitors with soft white sands and clear turquoise water. Summer is warmest and busiest; late spring and early autumn are quieter and pleasant. Mallorca, Menorca and Ibiza have airports, and ferries connect the islands. Menorca suits families and slow travel, Ibiza draws couples and nightlife, and Formentera is pure beach escape.
