Restoran Baletna Škola

Baletna Škola sits among pine trees a few metres from the sea in Kaštel Kambelovac. The name remembers a distinctive part of the site's history: prima ballerina Ana Roje founded an international ballet school here in 1953. Today the restaurant pairs that coastal setting with a broad menu rooted in Dalmatian and Mediterranean cooking.

Seafood choices include grilled fish, squid, prawns and mussels prepared in buzara sauce. Two diners can share a grilled seafood platter with fish, scampi, squid and chard, or choose the fried platter of prawns, squid and small fish. These are helpful options when you want a shared meal with several textures instead of choosing a single fish dish.

The grill menu is equally substantial, covering lamb, chicken, steaks, ćevapi and stuffed pljeskavica. There are named meat platters for two, alongside dishes such as chicken in gorgonzola sauce with gnocchi. Pizza provides another route through the menu: simple tomato and cheese, vegetable toppings, prawns and more generous combinations are available, including jumbo sizes.

Families have a separate children's selection with smaller ćevapi portions, chicken schnitzel and familiar pasta dishes. For something more traditional, ask what is being prepared for the day's marenda; the menu lists cooked lunch dishes such as beans, stews and pašticada. Peka appears among the special preparations, so discuss availability when reserving. Desserts include rožata, pancakes and cakes, giving a mixed group plenty of choice from the first course to the last.
